Genevieve, the Corps of Engineers selected Goodwin Brothers Construction Company to construct a pump station, railroad closure structure and a portion of the levee work which was all a part of the Ste. Genevieve Urban Design Levee project.Details include: • One of the largest submersible pump stations in North America • 30-foot deep mass excavation work within 600 feet of the Mississippi River • Mass concrete walls over 12-feet thick • Large mass excavations of over 250,000 cubic yards • Cast iron sluice gates measuring 12 feet x 16 feet • Relocation of more than 2,000 feet of waterway channel • 50,000 tons of rip-rap channel lining • 10,000 yards of cast-in-place concrete |
