

Route 67 Bridge over Meramec RiverThe Missouri Department of Transportation needed to replace the 75-year old deteriorating bridge crossing the Meramec River. This new plate-girder design bridge not only required mid-river cofferdams, but it also called for several land bents. During the project we overcame difficult flooding conditions and met an aggressive schedule.Details include: • 47,000 lineal feet of H-Pile • 11,000 cubic yards of substructure and structural deck concrete • Underwater concrete placement • 8 total cofferdams which consisted of 65,000 square feet of sheet piling • 3 cofferdams placed within the flow of the Meramec River and 5 other land-based cofferdams • Difficult high water and flooding conditions throughout entire project • 100,000 yards of imported fill • Aggressive schedule required night shifts • Night pile driving • Complete realighment of Highway 61-67, while maintaining existing traffic flows |
